Process Plugin

The Process plugin is automatically enabled when you add a new device to SevOne NMS to enable you to collect performance and availability information about individual processes running on a device. The Process plugin works in conjunction with the SNMP plugin via the HOST-RESOURCES MIB. This MIB stores information about all currently running processes, including their CPU time and memory usage. You must confirm that the SNMP plugin is enabled for a device when you enable the Process plugin. The Object Subtype Manager enables you to manage the Process object types to poll.

Devices for which you enable the Process plugin can display the following process data on the Device Summary.

  • Process Name - Displays the process name.

  • Description - Displays the process description.

  • Availability - Displays the process availability.

  • Instances - Displays the number of instances running.

  • Memory - Displays the amount of memory the process uses.

  • CPU - Displays the percentage of the CPU the process uses.

Perform the following steps to enable the Process plugin for each device from which you want to poll Process metrics.
